What is the time commitment I should expect when starting karate?
The karate curriculum is taught at a pace assuming that the student attends twice a week. It is strongly recommended that students attend classes twice a week to keep up with the material – this ensures proper mastery of the material.
Are there any hidden or additional fees?
We pride ourselves on transparency in our pricing. The only fees besides your monthly membership are belt test fees and purchasing of sparring equipment after 1 year of training (purple-white belt).
How often is belt testing?
Students should expect to test for a new belt every 6 months if they are keeping up with the material taught.
What ages do you teach?
We proudly offer karate to all ages (4+). Our Little Dragons program is for students aged 4-5. Our Kids Karate Program is for students aged 6-12, and our Teen/Adults Program is intended for students 13+.
What should I wear to the first class?
Students should wear comfortable athletic clothing and should bring a water bottle. It is also recommended to wear sandals as classes will be done barefoot.
Do I have to attend the same day each week?
No, it is all dependent on your schedule. You can attend any day of the week when your belt rank is offered. See current class schedule to see all offerings.
Can I make up missed classes?
Yes, if a class is missed for any reason (sick, vacation, dojo closed), classes can be made up within 1 month of the missed class. It is strongly recommended that students make up missed classes to stay on track for their next belt.
Can I get a credit or refund for missed classes?
Unfortunately, we do not offer credits or refunds for missed classes. If classes are missed, they can be made up within 1 month of the missed class. All dojo closure dates are posted at the beginning of the year, so students and parents can plan accordingly.
Is the agility class included with my membership?
The Agility and Coordination class is included with all memberships! If attended, it is counted towards one of your weekly classes in your membership.
Do you offer special events (e.g. birthday parties, parent's night out)?
Our dojo also offers special events for its students throughout the year. These include: Ninja Night (parent’s night out), Park Training, Beach Training, Tournaments, and Picture Day.
If you are interested in hosting a birthday party please contact us at (714) 988-3646.
What do I do if I need to pause or cancel my membership?
If you would like to pause or cancel your membership, please notify us via email.
Note: there is a $10 monthly pause fee to reserve your current pricing. If you would like to cancel your membership and return at a later time, you will be subject to current pricing.
